PSEUDOHISTORY

Intention

I see my music more as a sound sculpture than as a composition in the classical sense of the term.
Inspired by science fiction and motionless journeys, it must also reflect for me the impermanence of things, both persistent and fleeting.

Pseudohistory

Between 1991 and 1996, I played bass for a Parisian metal band called Mind Block. We did quite a few concerts in Paris and the surrounding area. With this quartet, led by Czar on guitar (Heatfly), we recorded two self-produced demos: The Run and Subvision.

At that time, I discovered techno and electronic music through rave parties. With a few friends, we started an artistic collective called X Factor (back then, this name could only refer to an obscure American comic book…). This collective, mainly focused on visual arts and set design, allowed us to work on the scenography for several major raves in the Paris area, alongside the Fantom collective (Spasmes and Nostromo) and Troglodytes.

Between 1996 and 2001, I joined Juantrip’ (F Communications / Pias) and took part as a bassist in Interstone EP (1996) and the album Balmy Under the Stormy (1999). For the first time, I used a stage name in a band — “Lov.” — that was my more romantic side. Promoting Balmy Under the Stormy took us on tour during the 2000–2001 season, all the way to Canada for the Francofolies de Montréal.
In 2000, I released my first self-produced electronic music demo under the pseudonym Alis Borg: Fairies in the Machine. The cover art was created by Dome.

Between 2001 and 2003, I formed Elixircus, an electro rock/pop band with a few friends (Redleb, Shiny…). We self-produced a demo: Ondes de formes. The release was accompanied by concert dates — Le Batofar (Paris), Le Nouveau Casino (Paris), Pow Wow 6 Festival (Orne), etc.
At the same time, until 2005, I played guitar in the explosive psychedelic extreme rock project Cosmac Treep, with Juantrip’ (drums), Beep (guitars, vocals), Grom (bass), and Michel Thiboult (flute). I was the guitarist for this project. Notably, the project was remixed by Juantrip’. Two self-produced demos were released: WARP JUMP and PEPLUM, along with a few concerts in Paris squats of the time (Rue Charlot, Alternation, etc.).

Between 2005 and 2010, I revived my personal production work with a new project and pseudonym: Alis Borg. This time, it was more techno-oriented and often performed live, notably in clubs such as the Rex Club for Gwen’s (Fantom) birthday and the 4L in Paris. This project also led to a music video in collaboration with G. Pape for the track Radioactiv Crocodile (2007).
Between 2010 and 2012, I DJed at a few parties, either solo or as a member of the collective Les Adaptateurs, which included Juantrip’, DJ Ottoman, and DJ Ricardo.

In 2019, during lockdown, I started a small family band called Stupide Carotte, with my eldest daughter Misolusine on drums. Our first single was Cocorona.

Since 2010, I have devoted a large part of my professional activity to stage management and lighting design as a lighting technician for numerous hip hop, electro, or contemporary dance companies — Käfig, Mehdia, Etra, Oups Dance Company… — with whom I have travelled around the world.
